The children looked at existing products and explored how they move. We then talked about what their purpose was, and looked at the components that made the product. We discussed that all existing products that they looked at had wheels, and we explored the axle and chassis of some products where they were visible.

The children decided that a skateboard and roller skates would not be good products to move objects as there would not be any place to put them, but they thought a wheelbarrow or dumper truck would be more suitable. We thought about 2 wheels vs 4 wheels and concluded that 4 wheels were less likely to tip over.
