We have been looking at how to identify equal groups and understand that all groups must have the same number of objects to be equal. They were super at spotting Mrs Elliott's grouping mistakes and could explain where she had gone wrong and why the groups were not equal. They have been using stem sentences, for example,'There are 4 groups and each group has 2 objects. The number sentence would be 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8.'
